China's climate is one of extremes -- hot summers in most parts of the country, bitter winters in the north and comfortable winters in the south. Spring rains can make southern cities (especially Guilin and Guangzhou) dreadfully humid.

Sandstorms can be a problem in the north (including Beijing) in April. Tibet can be bitter cold, even in the autumn and late spring. Changchun is of monsoon climate in the transitional belt from wet area to sub-dry area.

The four seasons varies a lot and the climate is rather pleasant, therefore Changchun is honored Spring City of Northland. In winter time, the average temperature is -17.2 with the lowest temperature of -36.5 ; in summer time, the average temperature is 23 with the highest of 38℃.Annual average sunshine time is 2866 hours and the rainfall is 567.0 mm.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS

A variety of preschools are serving the foreign community in Changchun. A parent’s first choice will be whether to place their child in a regular Chinese-speaking kindergarten, a private English-speaking preschool or a playgroup.

Since there are not many expatriates in Changchun and most of them are German, so there is one International German School.
